Every millimetre matters. Surgical knot tying and suturing are not just technical exercises; they are the final, critical steps in the clinical management of a patient’s injury. This “Essentials” workshop is meticulously designed to provide you with the manual precision required to achieve secure, safe, and aesthetic wound closure. Whether you are performing a simple repair or stabilizing a complex injury, these core skills are the foundations of surgical excellence.
The hands-on training focuses on the repetitive, deliberate practice of Tactical Knot Tying (single-handed, two-handed, and surgical instrument ties) and the three most versatile Suturing Patterns: simple interrupted, continuous, and the vertical mattress stitch. Working with high-quality surgical tools and synthetic tissue models, participants will learn the mechanics of needle driving, tension management, and tissue eversion. Guided by the SIDEMED Team, you will explore the logic of suture selection (thickness, material, and absorption) and the prevention of common pitfalls like dehiscence or strangulation. This session is designed to replace “approximation” with “precision,” ensuring that your manual skills are a reliable asset in the high-stakes environment of the Emergency Department.
