About this workshop
Precision where it matters most. When a patient is in critical condition and peripheral veins are non-palpable, multiple “blind” attempts are not just painful—they are dangerous and time-consuming. This workshop is dedicated to mastering the skill of ultrasound-guided vascular access, a mandatory competency for any modern emergency clinician. We focus on the high-level coordination between probe movement and needle tracking that ensures a “first-pass success” even in the most challenging anatomies.
The hands-on training uses specialized vascular simulation pads and high-frequency linear probes. You will master both In-Plane and Out-of-Plane techniques, learning to identify anatomical landmarks, differentiate between arteries and veins, and manage the “vanishing needle” artifact. The session covers tips and tricks for securing peripheral lines in deep veins and the foundational steps for ultrasound-guided central venous access. Guided by experienced instructors, you will practice real-time needle-vessel interaction, focusing on the tactical maneuvers that prevent complications like hematomas or accidental arterial punctures. By the end of this workshop, you will have the manual confidence to ensure that vascular access is never a bottleneck in your patient’s resuscitation.
